About Nick and Albury Organic Vineyard
Nick Wenman is the founder and owner of Albury Organic Vineyard, which he planted in 2009 having retired from the IT industry. The vineyard’s first wine, Silent Pool Rosé was served on the Royal Barge to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Since then their sparkling wines have been listed at many prestigious restaurants including Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons, Tom Kerridge’s Hand of Flowers and Steve Drake’s Sorrell, as well as many local pubs and restaurants.
Nick believes that the key to the success of his wines is the vineyard’s commitment to organic and biodynamic principles, and an experienced passionate vineyard team that is committed to producing top quality fruit which produces award-winning wines.
The vineyard is a family run business, with Nick’s daughter Lucy now part of the team and granddaughter Poppy a regular visitor (if only to visit the bee-hives and sneak a taste of the honey!).
Nick is Chairman of WineGB South East and was a founding member of Vineyards of the Surrey Hills.
