Talk title: How the food and drink industry is influencing Surrey's visitor economy
Summary: Surrey's local products are increasingly being valued by today's tourists who are looking for high quality, distinctive food and drink offers to enhance their holiday experience. It's good for tourists, good for businesses, and good for the local community.
Chris has worked in rural development and economic development roles for over 20 years. During her time as Town Centre Manager for Guildford, and as a Rural Development Officer at Waverley Borough Council, Chris developed a deep understanding of the importance of the tourism industry to the viability of farming and the sustainability of rural towns in Surrey.
Originally hailing from Australia, Chris fell in love with Surrey on a back packing holiday and never left! Perhaps that is why she is such a great advocate of Surrey - she still remembers what thrilled and inspired her about the county when she first arrived here.
