Talk title: The secret lives of the honey bee: a journey into the life of the hive
Summary: Honey bees are miraculous creatures and pure alchemists. They live in a mystical complex structure, producing revered medicinal benefits using their bodies entwined with nature. Dr Gerry will give an insight into these magical little creatures from her book, The Secrets of Hope the Honey Bee.
Dr Gerry is an ‘accidental Apitherapist’ and beekeeper, who, after an encounter with blood sucking ticks in the Surrey Hills contracted near fatal forms of tick borne infections including Lyme Disease.
Gerry will enlighten you on the natural pharmacy of the alchemists available at the bottom of your garden and discuss the diversity of premium hive produce for general health and healing, including the secret medicinal properties of honey, apilarnil, pollen, bee bread, royal Jelly and propolis.
Gerry will touch on her personal survival story along with supporting scientific evidence of how using bee venom has saved her life and many thousands of others including man’s best friend.
Gerry enjoys, sculling, archaeology, wild foraging and dowsing. She is also a qualified pilot, a Druid and the author of The Secrets of Hope the Honey Bee , which won second prize at the Surrey County Show 2019.
