About Mandira

Mandira is the founder and general dog’s body for the multi award-winning Mandira's Kitchen. She moved to the UK not knowing how to cook and then spent the next 17 years (as a management consultant) complaining bitterly about the lack of available authentic Indian food.

Following an unexpected end to her then current role, a friend encouraged her to set up Mandira's Kitchen. Initially, she offered supper clubs and catering, and then moved on to creating delicious Indian freezer meals, inspired by family recipes, using local produce. All her products contain no preservatives or gluten, and are available through farm shops or online for UK wide delivery.

Mandira creates her award-winning dishes from a purpose-built premises, which also features a cookery school and retail unit overlooking the stunning Silent Pool. Mandira’s Kitchen is the winner of host of awards, such as Great Taste Awards, Surrey Life Product of the Year, and Best New Start Up. 

Passionate about young enterprise, the company works with numerous schools promoting young enterprise, healthy eating and getting the next generation to start looking at entrepreneurship as a career option.
