Rob is Executive Chef at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, where he oversees the catering and hospitality for future Army Officers. As part of this role, he also cooks for visiting senior dignitaries, world leaders and members of the Royal family, including Her Majesty The Queen at events, such as the Sovereign’s Parade for the Royal Princes and the Royal Jubilee at Windsor Castle in 2012.
Rob’s love for food first started as a young boy when working on his grandparents’ farm and helping his grandmother in the kitchen. Today, his passionate and enthusiastic character is encapsulated in his dishes, which are described as ‘classic recipes delivered with a modern, exciting twist’.
During his culinary career, Rob has travelled twice to Germany to represent Compass UK and Ireland at the ‘culinary Olympic Games’, where he won gold and silver medals. He has also been nominated top three in the country, in four different categories at the UK Craft Guild of Chefs Awards, and won ‘Cost Sector Chef of the Year’ in 2010. Currently, Rob is a member of the national culinary team of England, which won a silver medal at last year’s ‘culinary World Cup’.
As part of his busy schedule, Rob also leads cookery demonstrations at venues such as London Excel, Kensington Olympia, Earls Court London and the NEC Birmingham, and he has appeared on various television channels, including BBC2, Channel 4 and sky TV.
Charitable organisations are close to Rob’s heart and his talents have been auctioned at a number of charity functions, which have raised over £48,000 for charities, such as the Peter Jones’ Foundation.
